National Park Recap: Casa Grande National Monument, Saguaro National Park, Arizona

We have been boondocking / dry-camping so far, so we haven’t any hookups for water or electricity, and WiFi is non-existent. Likely we’ll be posting more on Instagram than on here. But this library has Internet access, so…

Before heading to Arizona, we spent one night in Ocotillo Wells. A former co-worker had a spot, and we had to off-road to get there. Liz handled it expertly, but we did have some drawers break. Ball bearings spilled everywhere. We got it patched for now. The kids played flashlight tag in the dark as we hung out around a campfire.

Near Phoenix, we explored the tiny Casa Grande National Monument (NM). The kids discovered a secret room, and earned their first Junior Ranger Badges!

We also explored Saguaro National Park (NP) West. No kids or cacti were harmed, and James earned his 2nd Junior Ranger badge.

Currently we’re boondocking near Tucson. We’re having issues with the battery, but our new generator is topping it up, and the site is quiet and comfortable.
